Flash sites can be dynamic, professional, quick to produce, and interesting for the site visitor. Unfortunately, Flash does have some limitations for those trying to have their web content found by search engines.

There is no question that websites developed with Flash animation are among the cleanest and most graphically pleasing offerings on the Internet today (Sample Sample Sample ). Flash sites can be dynamic, professional, quick to produce, and interesting for the site visitor. Unfortunately, Flash does have some limitations for those trying to have their web content found by search engines.

Depending on what search engines are being targeted, different strategies for adding Flash based content can be implemented to maximize compatibility.

For Google and Yahoo, any an all marketing copy should be created out side of the Flash parts of the page. Your marketing copy should contain valuable keywords that Google will use to rank your site. These important keywords and phrases are only visible to Google if it is written in standards compliant XHTML.

Many other search engines, use a different method of ranking your website that is easier to employ more Flash content with. These search engines look at another list of keywords that don’t have be repeated in the main body content of the site. This means that more of your website’s content can be included in with the Flash.

However, most people want to target as many search engines as possible. Therefore one must have keyword heavy marketing copy written in XHTML and limit Flash to places of highest impact to the visitor.

Deciding exactly where your site could benefit from Flash (without limiting your visibility to search engines) is an important topic to discuss with your web designer.

If search engines are an important factor for your website, be sure your web guru hasn’t created a beautiful site that nobody will ever find.

*The Heaviest Element Known to Science** *
Lawrence Livermore Laboratories has discovered the heaviest element yet
known to science. The new element, Governmentium (Gv), has one neutron, 25
assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons,
giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are
surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons. Since
Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected,
because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny
amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less
than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.

Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2-6 years. It does not decay, but
instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant
neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.

In fact, Governmentium’s mass will actually increase over time, since each
reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes.
This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that
Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This
hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.

When catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element
that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium since it has half as many
peons but twice as many morons.

Traffic conversion is a committed process for building relationships and rapport with your targeted audience; it helps visitors to know, like, and trust you. When done correctly, it provides the opportunity for online marketers to achieve their ultimate objective of acquiring and retaining loyal and profitable customers.

Since you can’t improve what you don’t measure you should be asking yourself: How many visitors come to my website? How many visitors opt in to my e-mail list? Hoe many people click on the buy buttons? What is my visitor value?

In order to optimize your website so your prospects and customers will be compelled to opt in to your mailing list; learn more about your products and/or services and feel comfortable purchasing from you, you need to make your website professional looking, eye-catching and well-written. To improve opt-in conversions, use attention-grabbing graphics, make sure your opt-in box is positioned “above the fold,” make an irresistible offer and include a privacy statement.

Print advertising has given businesses visibility with prospective customers for over 200 years. At one time it enjoyed the position of being the cheapest, fastest, and most creative form of advertising for reaching local customers.

Print does have a few drawbacks that business owners have come to accept:

Print advertising requires payment-in-advance for design, paper, ink, labor, publishing, and postage before any results are known.

The ads tend to be general in nature because the audiences are general. Its difficult to develop a specific sales message in a 3×5 ad.

Even moderate results requires repeated publishing, again before any conclusion about the ad’s results can be drawn.

Good results often created additional questions:

Was it the media, the ad, or the timing?

Would it work on other media?

If the ad were changed, would it work better, or not at all.

Will it work consistently, or just a few times?

To do print advertising right involves a real committment, and most advertisers are finding the results are dwindling.

Along comes the Search Engine

The reason for print media’s decline is the impact of search engines. Search engines have made it possible for prospective customers to find your business, rather than having to wait for you to find them. In order to pay for the search engine, users agree to be exposed to advertising. This is typically “pay-per-click’ advertising. The advertiser only pays when a visitor clicks the ad.

This report shows the dramatic increase in web site traffic from pay-per-click (cpc) ads.

Pay-per-Click advertising is different from print advertising altogether. The messages are simple. There can be many ad messages. The ad messages can be automatically rotated to see which ones produce the highest “click-thru” rates.

With pay-per-click, it’s possible to direct visitors to more detailed messages about specific products or services. The visitor can be directed to a special promotion or to a company profile - whichever is the message that’s most appropriate.

Pay-per-click provides excellent analysis of visitor behavior. You know which ads produced the clicks (called click-thru), and you can monitor how visitors behaved once they reached your site. Did they leave immediately, or did they hang around and look at other content. You see, the key is that its interactive!

Pay-per-Click has one other major advantage: you only pay when someone clicks your ad. You can have thousands of “impressions” of your company’s message and brand without paying for them. Only those visitors with a real interest will click.

The visibility score of your web site is a measurement of how effectively your site is indexed by search engines. A score of 100% means your site is in the #1 position for every search

The visibility score of your web site is a measurement of how effectively your site is indexed by search engines. A score of 100% means your site is in the #1 position for every search keyword you want your site to be found under on every search engine.

Visibility graph shows the effect of improved optimization

You site’s visibility score is a result of several factors. First, the keywords that you target. Top keywords are those that are the most obvious to the highest number of searchers. Knowing the best keywords for your business site requires research and experience.

Then, in order for your site to rank well for a particular keyword, the site’s content must employ the keyword. Keywords must be incorporated into both the areas that can be seen by visitors, but also in areas of the site’s “source code”, which can’t be seen. Incorporating the keywords into this area is the responsibility of the site developer.

Then, time is needed. Just because you have skillfully chosen keywords, and then skillfully incorporated into your site’s pages, they will not leap to the top of the search engine results. It takes time for the search engines to find your pages. Then, the longer the pages are indexed, the higher they rank. During this time, visitors begin to come to your site, and this also improves your ranking.

The last factor is competition. If your keywords are not challenged by a competitor, you are home free. If your competitors discover your good fortune and decide to go for a piece of your action, they could knock you off your high perch.
